About the record

Back in front of the band

Ten songs from the Great American Songbook, reimagined for big band and strings by Mike Lewis.

Recorded at Criteria Studios and Afterhours Studios in Miami across three sessions, May I Come In is Lisanne Lyons at full voice: swinging on The Song Is You, lush on This Is Always, and digging into rarities like Ellington's Tulip or Turnip and Anita O'Day's Waiter, Make Mine Blues. Her longtime pianist John Toomey is at her side; Dr. Ed Calle, Cisco Dimas and strings join along the way.

Produced by Mike Lewis and Hal Batt. Released February 2026 on OA2 Records (OriginArts).
